Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE INITIAL CONSULTATION?

Our initial meeting is a free consultation. You have a conversation with one of our designers about the scope of your project and different ideas you may have. After that conversation, you decide whether you want to hire the designer you spoke with to create a design/estimate according to your budget. To proceed, there will be a design fee.

WHY IS THERE A DESIGN FEE? THE LAST GUY I TALKED TO DIDN’T HAVE ONE…

Our design fee is to cover the cost of pictures, measuring, design/concept development, and to respect the time of our designers.

DOES THE DESIGN FEE GO TOWARD THE PROJECT?

Design fees are separate from the installation costs and cover the concept/design preparation, including a preliminary estimate. It does NOT go towards the cost of the project.

I JUST WANT A ROUGH “BALLPARK” ESTIMATE….

Each and every project is unique and different, and estimating costs accurately takes some time and effort. We believe in giving you accurate information you can rely on to make informed decisions. That’s why we DON’T give “ballpark” estimates. Instead, we will visit your property, ask questions, measure the site, take pictures, and create a concept design with a preliminary estimate.

WHAT IF I DON’T NEED A DESIGN FOR MY PROJECT AND JUST WANT AN ESTIMATE?

In most cases, but not all, landscape projects require a scaled design. We offer an initial consultation at no charge to understand the scope of your project, during that time we will find out if a detailed sketch and design are necessary or not.

IF I ALREADY HAVE A DESIGN CAN YOU WORK WITH IT?

If you already have a design then our designers from Landscapes Unlimited will view it and determine whether or not it is the proper scale and something our crews can easily follow.
