Project Highlights
The project began with the removal of the old paver patio and various plantings around the home. Once that was done, our team installed a natural slate paver patio in the backyard and extended the slate pavers as stepping stones to the front of the home. This beautiful new addition allows the homeowner to access his backyard in an entirely new way.
The existing retaining wall, which served as a property divider, was severely warped. By reusing the original materials and adding caps for a more uniform appearance, our team rebuilt the retaining wall, saving the homeowner money while enhancing the overall look.
Although this project presented several challenges, we remained committed to delivering quality solutions. The homeowner had a concern about the deck’s stairway twisting and hovering above the old patio. Our crew managed to straighten the stairway and connect it to the new paver patio, enhancing both usability and safety.
During construction, we discovered that a previously installed drain tile was incomplete, ending abruptly in the middle of the yard. Identifying this issue early allowed Landscapes Unlimited to extend the drain tile to the back of the yard, reducing the risk of frost heaving, flooding, and soil erosion.
"Replacing the existing patio with the Buckingham slate, as shown in the photo you left would really tie the back area into the paver side and the deck."

“Seeing the transformation from before work began to getting to visualize the design completed as amazing. Mike was a great client to work with. He communicated his vision to me, even drawing out the shape he envisioned for his patio and marking it out in the grass prior” quotes Michaela, the Design Associate who spearheaded this project. “Mike still allowed some creative freedom in plant and material selection, so it was wonderful to see the project completed. I’m looking forward to continuing into the next phase of the project!”
