Mike Mathwig
With over 28 years of experience in sales, design, management, and installation, my career began with a decade of hands-on project installations where I developed a diverse skill set and technical expertise. For the past 18 years, I have focused on designing and managing landscape projects and teams, producing award-winning designs that reflect my true passion within the industry. My skill set allows me to truly understand and visualize a homeowner’s desires, enabling me to create unique and functional outdoor oases. I take great pride in listening to customers and helping them bring their vision to life. Outside of work, my family is my greatest joy. I am blessed with two beautiful daughters, an amazing wife, and two dogs. In our free time, we like to spend our time with family and friends.
Patrick Maloney
I’ve been in the landscape industry for 13 years, beginning as a laborer, and I’ve been interested in plants and outdoor spaces for as long as I can remember. I have a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota, but the most valuable lessons have been learned in the field. My passion in this career is creating a space you’ll love for years. I love working through the challenges that every site presents and following through with a design that is beyond expectations. Whether influenced by Japanese garden design, rustic, or modern, I’ll create a space that is perfectly yours. Outside of work I enjoy time with my wife, daughter, and dogs. I spend as much time as possible outdoors pursuing archery and bowhunting, hiking, gardening, and my side passion, raising cattle on pasture. If I get any down time I’ll fill it with a good book.
Robert Latham
I studied landscape architecture and earned a dual Bachelor’s Degree, Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design, from North Dakota State University (Go Bison!). Since graduating, I have gained over a decade of experience working in landscape construction, design-support, and design-sales. My diverse background in the landscape industry has provided me with a strong foundation to grow and analyze various design-build processes to ensure the client experience is exciting, efficient, and enjoyable. At Landscapes Unlimited, I utilize my passion for technology and strong communication skills to deliver creative design solutions that strive to exceed our clients’ expectations. When I am not designing or meeting with clients, I find great joy in spending time with my family and friends. Whether it be exploring the outdoors, one campsite at a time, or spending a day at the lake, I can always count on feeling recharged after making memories outside with my family and friends.
Casey Hedeen
I bring a wealth of experience to our team, having owned and operated Nature’s Quest Inc. in Hastings for over 22 years. My extensive background in the landscaping industry began in Rochester Mn where I received a degree in Horticulture and Landscape design in 1998. My commitment to providing exceptional service and quality products make me a valuable asset to Landscapes Unlimited. I’m confident that I will play a key role in helping us achieve our goal of becoming a leader in the Landscaping industry. Many of my projects have been featured in Landscape Product catalogs. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my girlfriend Kristi and our six children, hunting and fishing around the world, and seeking new adventures with our family.
Dave Sonka
I have been working on custom design-build landscape projects for 30 years. I really enjoy meeting people, their families and friends, and learning about their unique situations. I have a passion for design and love working through the creative process with clients and collaborating on their ideas. I am married to a 30-year veteran high school visual arts teacher, and we have two wonderful kids at the University of Minnesota. I make an effort to visit and help my parents in Iowa throughout the year. I play catcher on a 50+ baseball team when I can, and we recently won the Minnesota state championship out of 36 teams in our league. Other hobbies include watching/listening to the Minnesota Twins, Timberwolves, Vikings, Iowa State Cyclones, live music, playing the drums, and trying to learn my son’s guitar while he is away at college.
Michaela Long
I am a passionate individual who graduated with a degree in Landscape Design. My journey through schooling not only provided me with a solid foundation in the principles of design, and plant care, but it also ignited a deep-seated enthusiasm for transforming outdoor spaces into living, breathing works of art. I am dedicated to applying my knowledge to create sustainable, aesthetically pleasing landscapes that harmonize with nature while catering to the unique needs and preferences of each client. In my free time I enjoy cuddling with my cats while I read, finding new restaurants with my fiancé, and riding my horses.
Billy Ventura
Originally from Los Angeles but consider myself a full Midwesterner now. I got my degree in Environmental Design which gave me a great foundation in design principles and communication. I am passionate about the relationship that is possible with nature when the proper care and respect is given to the environment. I love the challenges and unique characteristics of each situation. I look forward to working with you! Outside of work I spend time with my husky Echo, who I go on runs, walks and take to breweries. I also enjoy making art: classically trained in orchestra, guitar and drawing.
